Pennsville Wrestling Association
The Pennsville Wrestling Association is an all-volunteer, non-profit youth wrestling organization dedicated to introducing local Kindergarten through 8th grade boys and girls to the sport of wrestling. The focus of our program is to build self-discipline, sportsmanship, self-confidence, and physical fitness.
Cost
We charge a yearly registration fee with discounts for additional family members.
We have an annual fundraiser in addition to registration, cost vary year to year depending on item being sold.
We require a refundable (singlet) uniform deposit.
We require a refundable volunteer deposit.
If you or another family member needs assistance with the fees for the season, please contact club Pesident. You can also contact another board member or your team’s coach. We do not want to make cost an obstacle for your child to be part of our wrestling program.
Ages
Tots - 5 and 6 year olds
Bantams - 7 and 8 year olds
Midget - 9 and 10 year olds
Junior - 11 and 12 year olds
Intermediate - 13 to 15 year olds
A child's age is determined by his/her age as of December 31. Link to Age chart
The Middle School team
The MS team is made up of the Junior and Intermediate age groups. Participants for this team range from 5th to 8th. A Wrestler can not be in High School and can be up to 15 years old
Match Locations
Our home matches take place at High School Gym or Middle School Gym.
We TRAVEL to other locations to wrestle other clubs as well. Matches typically take place on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and on rare occasions a week night.
Middle School Matches generally take place prior to HS matches. These occur Monday thru Saturday.
Season
Our season runs the middle of November to the end of March.
We host two tournaments in March that are vital to keeping our program running. These tournaments act as major fundraising events. Parent participation is required.
We participate in the Tri-County Jr. Wrestling League (TCWL). Pennsville Wrestling Association hosts the annual MAWA (AAU) District Tournament in March of each year. Pennsville Wrestling Association is the longest continuously held MAWA (AAU) District Tournament at one location. Pennsville Wrestling Association started hosting this tournament in approximately 1977. We also host a Round Robin tournament in March.
